  • The Photo Visual Schedule printable kit as it prints: the three week board sheets, a 3-step strip with its all-done pocket, a page of photo-frame cards and the first/then boards.
  • What's included: the week board in color and plain (3 sheets each), first/then boards, a now/next sheet, day strips, 87 cards (72 photo-frame cards and 15 surprise cards), today stars, pocket fronts and a 9-page setup guide.
  • How it works in three steps: take about 20 photos around the house, print them 2 inches square and glue them into the frames, then print, laminate and add hook-and-loop dots.
  • A page of blank photo-frame cards and the shot list page from the setup guide. Six 2 inch photos fit on one 4x6 print, and twenty-four 1 inch minis fit on another.
  • The first week board sheet with its change slot and today star marked. The change slot stays empty on ordinary days; surprise cards go up the night before a change.

  • Day strips: two 3-step strips, a school-day strip in start and end pieces, and middle pieces that make a strip up to 12 steps long, each strip ending in an all-done pocket.
  • Two first/then boards on one sheet, to cut apart, and a now/next sheet for the fridge or the wall.
  • Three pages of the 9-page setup guide: the shot list, print and build, and changes and trips.
  • The week board in color, with school days in blue and home days in tan, and in plain, each three sheets taped side by side with a waiting column.

Toddlers don't recognize a cartoon school bus as their school. They recognize their own front door, their nap mat, their sitter's face. This printable kit gives you blank photo frames for your child's actual day, plus a setup guide that shows you exactly what to photograph and how. It started as a board for one toddler who wanted to know when his mom was coming home.

What’s inside

18 printable pages and a 9-page guide

  1. Week board, in a color version (school days and home days) and a plain version, 3 sheets each, with a "waiting" column for cards not in use

  3. Two first/then boards and a now/next sheet
  4. 72 photo-frame cards: 36 large (2 inch photo window) in three colors for places, people and things you do, and 36 mini (1 inch)

Three boards, three questions

  • First/then: what's happening now?
  • Strips: what happens next today? Each card comes off and goes in the all-done pocket as that part of the day ends.
  • Week board: is today a school day? Your child moves the today star each morning.

A place for change

Every day on the week board has a change slot, and the kit includes surprise (?) cards, so a sitter day, a trip or a doctor visit goes on the board with everything else. The guide has a page on what to put up when a parent travels.

Who it is for

Parents and caregivers of toddlers and young children who want a schedule made from their own photos: their door, their nap mat, their people.

How it works

  1. Download the files and read the guide (about ten minutes).
  2. Take the photos on the shot list, about 20 minutes around the house.
  3. Print the pages at 100% scale, glue in your photos (printed 2 inches square; six fit on one 4x6 print), laminate, and add hook-and-loop dots (Velcro).

Sizes and format

  • 4 PDF files: the printables and the guide, each in US Letter (8.5 x 11 in) and A4. Cards and slots are the same size in both.
  • Every printable page has a 1 inch check ruler. Print at "Actual size" with background graphics on.
  • Slots are sized for laminated cards: every large slot is at least 2.5 x 2.78 in, room for a 2.12 x 2.4 in card with a 1/8 in laminate edge.
  • The photo frames are blank: you add your own photos. No clipart and no stock photos are included.
  • Instant download. No physical item is shipped. Laminating pouches, hook-and-loop dots and photo prints are not included.
